Our lessons seek to cover all bases. We begin by looking at the guitar itself; learning what each part is called, from the headstock all the way tail pin. From how to change a string to how the volume controls work. We explore the difference between electric, classical and acoustic guitars, as well as looking at what’s in a guitarist toolbox, from capos to picks to tuners to leads and much much more.
We then move on to look at the strings in more detail,
As strumming and chord technique is improved the chord and song repertoire is increased. As the song repertoire is increased we begin to pick apart the songs further, not only looking at the basic chord patterns but through learning how to read notation and tablature we begin to learn the melody lines, possible harmony lines, guitar riffs and tags.
In addition to building up a repertoire list, we teach a range of exercises to help improve technique further.
We also provide the opportunity for our students to study for practical and theory examinations.

practicing how best to position the fingers and how best to use tension to control tone. At this point we will also explore the different techniques involved in strumming; including how strumming works in different time signatures. As the tutorials develop we progress forward to look at how chords are built up; from the theory of the notes themselves to how these notes are played in combination on the guitar.
